Burial Interment

Burial applications can only be submitted by a funeral director, who will make all the arrangements for you.

  • Tewantin Cemetery - no burial plots available (unless previously reserved)
  • Cooroy and Pomona Cemeteries - burial plots available
  • Services are available each day of the week.
  • Special arrangements apply for weekend services.
  • Funeral Directors can contact council at any time for bookings and enquiries.
  • Chairs and shade are provided for convenience and comfort.
  • Historic records are held on council's computer system.

FAQs

  • Graves are prepared so that two adults can be interred (burial or cremation).
  • Fresh and artificial flowers may be placed on graves (1 vase only). Tins, bottles and other containers are not allowed.
  • Planting trees or shrubs near the grave is not allowed.
  • there are lawn or monumental burial options available. Please discuss this with your funeral director.

Ashes Interment

Interment of ashes can be made into any plot at the cemetery.

Cooroy Cemetery office hours: 9am - 12 noon Tuesdays only.
