Living Well Through Menopause

Are you currently transitioning into or through menopause and would like more knowledge and support? Would you like to begin exercise that is tailored to support this exact transition and your unique body whilst connecting with other women on the same journey?  Then this pilot program run by the Living Well initiative may be exactly what you've been looking for...

About the Program

Women living in the Noosa LGA can access a 3-phase program offering you:

  1. Weekend morning community talks (free to attend) at your local library designed to help women better understand and navigate peri‑menopause and menopause
  2. An initial discounted assessment with a Women’s Health Physiotherapist, and referral into...
  3. A tiered range of community exercise programs delivered by local Women’s Health Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists - $10 per week participation fee

Women attending the community talk sessions will be offered first-refusal for the physio assessments and first-round spots on the community exercise programs

Menopause Community Talks

Join us this May at Noosaville and Cooroy Libraries for a supportive series of community talks designed to help women better understand and navigate peri‑menopause and menopause.

Hear from trusted local health professionals who will share practical, evidence‑based information about symptoms, treatment options, lifestyle support, and how to access care through the medical and allied health system.

You’ll hear from:

  • A local GP, who will cover common (peri)menopause symptoms, available treatment pathways, and how to access screenings and support

  • A Women’s Health Physiotherapist, who will explain what’s happening in your body during this natural life stage and share strategies to help you feel more comfortable, mobile, and confident

  • A local Dietitian, discussing how (peri)menopause can affect digestion and how nutrition can support symptom management

  • Mind‑body wellbeing professionals, exploring emotional wellbeing, stress, and the role of the mind‑body connection — including practical tools for communicating needs and setting boundaries at home and work

Women's Health Physiotherapy Assessments

Following the community talks, attendees will be invited to book an initial assessment with one of two local Women’s Health Physiotherapists (based in Pomona and Noosa). These assessments will explore menopause‑related concerns and readiness to participate in one of the community exercise programs outlined below.

The participating physiotherapists are offering a special discounted rate of $110 for the initial assessment. For eligible women, a Chronic Condition Management Plan (CCMP), which can be accessed via your local GP may provide a subsidy of $61.80, reducing the out‑of‑pocket cost to $48.20. A CCMP provides access to up to five subsidised allied health sessions.

For women who do not meet the criteria for a CCMP but require additional financial support, Living Well will also provide a subsidy matching the CCMP amount ($61.80) to assist with accessing the physiotherapy assessment. This support is not means‑tested and is offered on a trust basis.

Community Exercise Programs

After your initial physio assessment, you will be recommended a starting level in the following community Exercise Programs (starting late May) - tailored for women currently in perimenopause and menopause - run from both Noosa Heads and Pomona locations

The programs are at tiered levels to suit your individual needs and starting point for exercise and allow progression through the 3 programs.

Classes will be 60 mins, 1x a week and outside of 9-5 working hours - exact dates and time will be announced shortly.

  • Strong Foundations Level 1: Women's Physio run 12 week program
